My dear, Asha

Dear Asha, my lovely daughter,
---------------------------------
I always wonder what exactly my purpose of cleaning the house everyday anyway. Each time I put all your legos and cards and all your toys neatly back into your pink box, somehow I will see you put them all back out of it and leave them untidy on the floor. The strange thing is that you seldom play with them, dear. You just love to see them scattered all over the floor, don’t you?
Don’t you know that I step on your pointy legos most of the time? Can’t you see me grimacing every time it happens to me? It hurts. I bought you that big pink box for a purpose, dear; as a cute storage where you can put all your stuff safely. You can always open it anytime you want to play with your toys but could you please put them in back after playing?
Sometimes when I feel so mad (usually after another step on your legos again) I make a promise in my heart that I’m going to throw away all those stupid legos silently when you were asleep. But when I got a chance to do it, I canceled my plan over and over again thinking about how you might look for them when you awake and how you love to play with them.
But then I found out about this beautiful quote:
“Someday you will wake up and the house will be clean. But your babies will be all grown up and on their own. So enjoy the mess while you can. Along with it enjoy your kids.”
It’s like a lighting striking into my brain telling me that I may not see this happens again next year or the years after. My baby girl will soon grow up and decide to store those legos and toys in the garage. At that time my house will be clean and tidy but its because she will choose to be with her friends instead of staying at home with me. Then I will miss the time when I have to tidy up all her toys again.
Alright then my baby girl.. enjoy your time messing up the house with your legos and toys. I will just smile and enjoy every move you make there and thank God for giving you to enliven my house. Love you SOOOO much.. XoXo

Love,
Your Grateful Mommy

Today's Relief

Want to talk a little about therapy? Then you can join this meme. One of the best therapies to find a relief over your stressed days is by becoming a thankful person and say thank you for whatever happened in past few days. I’m sure everyone got something to share about this. And these are my stressed yet thankful days (lol)

I want to say thank you very much to:
~ My little girl who got cough and flu since 3 days ago and make me missed a chance to spend time at the beach with my family members last Saturday.

~My little girl who finally recovers from her cough and flu and still kind enough to spread them over to me. I got cough and flu right now *sigh*

~My dearest hubby for having so many business trips this week and left me with our little girl at home all by ourselves. We missed your laugh (lol)

~My dear brain for giving me no idea to write on my blogs and make me stuck.

~The pitchman who unable to deliver my orders on time due to the fasting month.

I think that would be enough. I don’t want to look like a querulous mommy who grumble about everything all day long (lol)

Breastfeeding Law Enforcement

Gisele Bundchen statement about forced breastfeeding has become a hot topic these past few days. If some of you have never seen or heard her statement before then here it is

Some people here (in USA, red) think they don’t have to breastfeed. And I think ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?’ I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mother should breastfeed their babies for six months.

People react in different ways about this. Some consider this as an enlightenment of motherhood while some other consider this statement as an over reactive opinion which insulting the womanhood instead. Indeed, breastfeeding is the best food that a baby can get from her mom. But it’s not that easy to be a breastfeeding mom, you know? If you are a home maker like me, than maybe you will not face any problem about this lactation issue unless you must stop breastfeeding your baby due to a health problem. For a wealthy woman like Mrs. Bundchen here, I bet she has her own lactation expert who helped her 24 hour a day. Not to mention that Mrs. Bundchen can just stay at her exclusive, fancy home and spend the entire day with her precious new born baby. But what if you’re a factory worker mom who needs to work at least 7 hours non-stop and don’t have time to express milk? What if you are moms who share a large room with so many colleagues around you and don’t have a special space to do this in your office? If you’re on a manager level maybe you will have your own office door where you can have privacy for a moment. Will you punish these all mothers just because they can’t breastfeed their babies and considered to be disregarding their own motherhood?

It would be a disaster if the law enforces what a woman do with her body. Breastfeeding is not the mainstream of motherhood itself. Just because you didn’t make to breastfeed your baby for 6 months, it doesn’t mean that you will lose the entire meaning of your motherhood. There’s no law in this world could ever enforced women in this world about their own body and punish them for not obey it. Besides the formula milk is not a poison itself because basically, every mom wants the best for their children. Some moms are fortunate enough to be able to breastfeed their babies without have to think about jobs for living. But most other moms are just not that lucky. It’s not fair to judge their motherhoods just because they can’t breastfeed their babies. Or punish them because the hard work they did for living has made them failed to breastfeed for six months.

And Bundchen then released her newest statement due to the raise of objections and negative comments she received after her first statement above with this:

My intention is making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law. It comes from my passion and belief about children. It’s unfortunate that in an interview things can seem so black and white. I’m sure if I would just be sitting talking with other mothers, we would just be sharing opinions. I understand that everyone has their own experience and opinions and I’m not here to judge.

Planning A Vacation

Do you prefer to go on an organized tour or be your own tour guide during a vacation? Each of them has their own plus and minus of course. On an organized tour, you will get punctuality and well as precise calculation of money for the entire trip. You will usually be informed about schedules, accommodation, transportation and the places you are going to visit. On this kind of trip you are going to follow certain kind of rules as you are not the only participant. You must share everything with people you don’t know which can be good because you can make a new friend. You will visit places according to the event organizer’s plan each day including hotels and restaurants for meals. People who can not follow the schedules might be left behind and missed particular places or events. Remember, you’ve already paid to visit each place on the schedule so if somehow you can’t manage to follow the schedule and missed some places just because you overslept the night before then it would be your own loss. So this organized tour is not suitable for people who refuse to have straight schedule during vacation.
You can then be your own tour guide and arrange your own tour. You are free from straight schedule and start the tour anytime you like. You can visit every place in one day or just two places each day. Pick yourself! But in this kind of tour you must learn to manage your money wisely. On an organized tour, the organizer usually made collaboration with hotels and restaurants chain. That’s why the can get some kind of discounts from the real price and calculate the lower price on your behalf. You’re not going to get this benefit if you’re making your own tour. Anyway, you’re free to use any kind of transportation including the cheap one but you must prepare your self with a local map just in case you got lost. The benefit is that you can enjoy every place you’re visiting as long as you like. Tour organizers usually use schedules on the entire tour; you are free to enjoy your time unscheduled!
But if you asked, I think I’m going to choose the organized one. I am an organized person. I want everything to be organized for me. In this way I can also calculate the budget before departure and I usually need not use anymore money except for the goodies (lol). But if you are an adventurer, then you might want to be your own tour guide and do whatever you like unscheduled right?
